  1. I’d just put anything by Over the Rhine there. (BTW, going to see them Saturday down near DC. You and Maile should come).

  2. I sit up and take notice anytime anyone lists “The Joshua Tree” first. I can’t decide which I like better now: “The Joshua Tree” or “Achtung Baby”.

Since we’re choosing “favorite” and not “best”, I’d have to include something by Carrie Newcomer (maybe “The Age of Possibility”), something by the Indigo Girls (maybe their self-titled album), and something by Alison Krauss (the “Live” album with Union Station). Right now, I’m enjoying Van Morrison and Joni Mitchell.

  3. Agreed. Indigo Girls needs to be represented. Love love love Joshua Tree AND Garden State. I might have to throw in Eric Hutchinson or Amy Cook just to have something really recent. ;) Ha-we are getting old and out of touch….

Not a bad list at all.

  4. First of all, GREAT post Shawn. Here’s my eclectic list of favorites (I had a really hard time narrowing this list down, and I’ll need an entirely separate list for Christmas albums):

    King’s X – Gretchen Goes to Nebraska
    U2 – The Joshua Tree
    Ottmar Liebert – Viva (Live)
Rich Mullins – Winds of Heaven, Stuff of Earth
Dave Matthews / Tim Reynolds – Live at Luther College
    Reliant K – MMHMM
Bela Fleck & The Flecktones – 3 Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest
The Dixie Dregs – Bring ‘Em Back Alive
Alison Krauss & Union Station – Live
Extreme – III Sides to Every Story

    Honorable Mention:
    The Police – Synchronicity
Norah Jones – Come Away With Me
Bob Marley & The Wailers – Legend
    DMB – Listener Supported

Dang, that wore me out. I’m going to lie down and listen to “An Evening with Shane & Shane” now.

  5. Dude! You forgot Pink Floyd-A Momentary Lapse of Reason…you can’t tell me that if you listened to “Dogs of War” right now, you wouldn’t have the sudden, uncontrollable urge to find the nearest hill and spint up and down until you can’t feel your legs. Some other good ones…

    Pearl Jam – Ten

Journey – Greatest Hits (no one likes to admit this one but you all sing along when you hear it)

Eric Clapton – Rainbow Concert (Live Album with unbelievable guitar playing)

  6. Here are a few of my favorite albums:

    Boston – Boston

Eagles – Their Greatest Hits 1971-1975

    John Cougar Mellencamp – Scarecrow

    Dean Martin – Dino

Jim Croce – Photographs & Memories

Everclear – So Much For The Afterglow

    Swingers soundtrack

    Corrosion of Conformity – Deliverance

    Enya – Shepherd Moons
